What is A3 and How Can it be Used? Wabash Valley Lean Network, August 4.
Wabash Valley Lean Network (WVLN) continues to increase its membership from a wide variety of industries (manufacturing, logistics, health care, financial services, etc.) and is truly becoming regional in scope, including several newer members from the Indianapolis area. WVLN will hold its next monthly meeting on Thursday, August 5, 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at SIA Training Center. The August program topic will be What is A3 and How Can it be Used. A3 is simply an international standard paper size, roughly translating to about 11 x 17. However, in the lean world A3 translates to waste-free report writing. A3 is how we can get rid of all those presentations, all those 50 slide PowerPoints, all those 40-page Word documents, all those things we spend hours doing, and get it down to one page.
We will have three well-qualified speakers for the Aug 5 meeting describing how A3 is being used in their organizations: Tim Martin, a Lean Six Sigma Coordinator at St. Elizabeth Regional Health in Lafayette; Greg Brewer, Lean Champion at Emerson (Industrial Automation Division) in Monticello; and September Dehen, an Industrial Engineer/Lean Practitioner, at Cook Biotech in West Lafayette.
If you wish to attend this meeting on Aug 5 as a 1st-time guest (no-cost), or need more information about WVLN, contact Pete Wagoner: 807-5929, or click here to sign up online.
