Five Win Golden Apple Awards

Ceremony to be Televised on WLFI TV-18, Wednesday, April 28

 

Greater Lafayette Commerce named five teachers Golden Apple Award winners on Monday, April 19, at a banquet at Best Western Executive Plaza in Lafayette.

 

Winners are: Ned Boyd and Karla Fultz, both Sunnyside Middle School teachers; Martha Long of Jefferson High School; Cheryl McLean, McCutcheon High School; and Candice Reed, Central Catholic Junior/Senior High School.

 

The event will be broadcast at 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 28, on WLFI TV-18.

 

This is the 23rd year the Golden Apple Awards have been given. Each teacher receives $1,000.

 About the Awards

 

Teachers are nominated by students, parents and colleagues. The awards recognize and celebrate the positive contributions of educational leaders in Tippecanoe County, and alternate each year between middle/high school teachers and elementary teachers.

 

The five winners are selected by members of the Golden Apple Education Committee of the Chamber Council, which is a division of Greater Lafayette Commerce.
